The project encompasses laying down 23 kilometers of fiber-optic conduits, designed to improve digital connectivity and service provision for the local populace and businesses. Works include direct connections to individual residences and the installation of network distribution cabinets along the streets.
The city’s roads are constructed using slabs that weigh approximately 400 kg each. To manage the placement and removal of these slabs efficiently, a wireless, vacuum lifting system was employed. This approach facilitated a safer and more efficient preparatory phase for trenching and the subsequent installation of the fiber-optic cables.
The project also faced the challenge of integrating the new network with Grimma’s existing communication infrastructure. The presence of pre-existing networks necessitated a manual, precision-driven approach to ensure that the installation of new cables would not interfere with or disrupt current services.
